When the campus was completed in 1994 and children began to live in the residential treatment center cottages, the Casa Pacifica Angels added planning and decorating four Children’s Parties each year to their volunteer efforts:
Held each May at the end of the school year, the Prom is a special event for all the kids of Casa Pacifica – and includes a fantastic sit-down dinner, followed by a wonderful evening of dancing to the irresistible beats of a D.J. The kids dress up to the nines for the fabulous party and are treated to hair cuts, manicures, and limousine rides courtesy of kind professionals from the community. Hosted at the Calamigos Ranch, the End of Summer party allows the Casa Pacifica children and staff to enjoy a great day playing at the park, paddling boats, swimming in the pool, fishing, playing lawn games, and competing in the summer favorite picnic games – tug of war, egg toss, sack race, etc. Then Calamigos Ranch prepares the most delicious summer picnic fare to add to the fun! It’s a really special afternoon that promises to last as a favored childhood memory for our youth’s lifetimes. Held in Casa Pacifica’s hauntingly transformed gymnasium, each year the Angels collaborate with the Amigos to create a fun evening for the kids we serve! The kids are able to enjoy trick-or-treating at the various carnival-style booths sponsored by the different agency programs followed by a costume contest and lots of dancing! A special and memorable evening for Casa Pacifica’s children, the Angel’s Children’s Events co-chairs and their team always come up with a wonderful theme that sets the tone for a magical evening that includes a special sit-down dinner (served by volunteers from the community), performances by the Casa Pacifica Choir and special guests, and the highly-anticipated visit from Santa Claus, who hands out a gift to each individual child. This annual event offers Casa Pacifica’s children the opportunity to ‘shop’ for holiday gifts (which have all been donated) for important people in their lives – family members, social workers, care staff, and friends. The Angels are on hand to wrap each gift in splendor and with love, so each child has something special to hand to their loved-one.
