Rock the Collection Concert Series Benefits Casa Pacifica
Oxnard, CA – This summer, The Collection at RiverPark in Oxnard held its popular Rock the Collection concert series over nine weeks. Each Thursday evening starting July 6th guests, who enjoyed free admission to the concerts, were treated to great bands covering musical styles from classic rock to Motown soul to country to reggae. Bands included Dirty Rice (reggae); Led Zepagain (classic rock); Southbound and Company (classic rock); Garth Guy (country); Killer, Cash, and King (the music of 1950s and 1960s legends); DBS (Journey tribute band); The Long Run (classic rock); Stone Soul (classic soul); and Queen Nation (classic rock). While admission was free, concert-goers could access a “Groupie Garden” for a $5 entry fee where beer from Firestone Walker Brewing Company was for sale. Firestone Walker donated all the beer for the event, and all proceeds from its sale were donated to Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families – a more than $6,000 donation over the nine-week period!
Casa Pacifica provided volunteers each week to help in the Groupie Garden and to man a table giving out t-shirts. It was a great series of concerts, with attendance maxing out each week. Casa Pacifica is grateful for the partnership and support of The Collection at RiverPark, and to Firestone Walker Brewing Company for their support of Casa Pacifica through this fun and exciting community event!
