Holiday Giving - Casa Pacifica “Doves” Fill Children’s Holiday Wishes
Camarillo, CA December 12, 2016 – Each year, Casa Pacifica’s children and families fill out a wish list for gifts they would like to receive for the holidays. For the children, toys and other fun items fill their lists, while families focus more on the basic necessities of life. All the ‘wishes’ are transferred to dove-shaped paper ornaments and are available to anyone who wants to share in the spirit of the holiday season and make a big difference in the lives of children and families in need. What could be a greater gift than putting a huge smile on a child-in-need’s face?
People can visit www.cpkidswishes.org to choose specific ornaments for particular children’s wishes, or they can contact Casa Pacifica’s Volunteer Coordinator, Morgan Tandy, to request a number of the dove ornaments they can then hang on a garland at work, put in a basket on a checkout counter, or to adorn a small tree at their place of business. Church groups, Girl and Boy Scouts troops, computer stores, smoothie and coffee houses, families, you name it – everyone can get into the act of generously giving and making a child’s holiday brighter!
In addition to filling our children’s wishes for the holiday, Casa Pacifica has launched its Year-End Giving Campaign to raise at least $150,000 to support its programs and services meeting the needs of the 550 children and youth Casa Pacifica serves each month, the nearly 4,000 it serves each year.
