Golf for a Day, Make a Lifetime of Difference! Play in the 26th Annual Care for Kids Golf Classic!
Camarillo, CA June 25th, 2018 – The 26th Annual Care for Kids Golf Classic will take place on Monday, July 16th at Spanish Hills Country Club. Funds raised benefit Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families and its programs serving foster and at-risk youth, along with other Rotary Foundation charities. This year’s tournament, hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Camarillo, will be honoring and remembering the late Dan Mayer of Advanced Motion Controls, the returning tournament Title Sponsor. Kevin Nunn and Kevin Estes of the Camarillo Rotary will co-chair the tournament, assisted by their Care for Kids Golf Classic committee which includes committee members, as well as Casa Pacifica Development staff. The Care for Kids Golf Classic is one of Ventura County’s longest running charity golf tournaments.
Rotarian and tournament co-chair Kevin Nunn said, “The Care for Kids Golf Classic was started because we all believe in Casa Pacifica’s mission – to provide hope and help to foster and at-risk youth and their families. It’s a fun way to support a great cause!” As for fellow co-chair Kevin Estes - “I was invited to play in the tournament 16 years ago and I had a blast – one of the funnest golf tournaments I’ve ever played in. It’s been a pleasure to play and be involved, all for a great cause!”
The “Texas Scramble” style tournament will crown winners in gross and low-net flights. Several on-course competitions including longest drive and closest to the hole contests boast fabulous prizes – including cars and cash. Tournament favorite “Demolition Derby” pits golfers against each other – all putting at the same time for a position closest to the hole, the winner receives a coveted pair of tickets to the award-winning Casa Pacifica Angels Wine, Food & Brew Festival in June. Various food and drinks sprinkled between holes will keep players golfing through the afternoon in high spirits. A cocktail reception and awards dinner follow the tournament round and feature raffle prize opportunities and a live auction. Don’t golf? You can still attend the dinner and enjoy a fabulous meal along with tempting live and silent auction items.
