End of Summer Party Creates Special Memories for Casa Pacifica’s Foster Children and Youth

Malibu, CA – Creating happy childhood memories isn’t always the easiest thing to accomplish for foster children and youth removed from home. But at Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families, where many of Ventura County’s foster children are placed for a time, they strive to achieve just that, through great events such as the End of Summer Party, which just took place last week at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.

Held in one of Calamigos Ranch’s open grassy areas - this one surrounded by trees with a lovely pond and a swimming pool – Casa Pacifica’s at-risk children and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers and their appointees were treated to a yummy BBQ picnic and a great day of fun, laughter-inducing activities. Swimming, cruising the pond in paddle boats, fishing, bounce house jumping, gliding down an inflatable slide, and giant Jenga were just a few of the entertaining options available to the kids. In addition, traditional picnic games were played including sack races, water balloon toss, and a very competitive tug of war where staff and kids were divided into two teams and faced off to see who was the strongest.

This special day was made possible by generous hosts Linda and Lewis Landau, and Mon Li and Glenn Gerson, owners of Calamigos Ranch. Linda Landau has been a Casa Pacifica Angel and a volunteer for both Casa Pacifica and CASA for many years.

“The magical and serene outdoor setting at Calamigos Ranch makes this special event an unforgettable experience for not only the kids, but for Casa Pacifica staff and CASA volunteers as well.  Every child deserves positive childhood experiences which stay with them forever.  We are overjoyed to provide such a memorable day of fun to the foster children of Ventura County,” shares Linda Landau.

Thanks to the Landaus, Gersons, and the wonderful staff at Calamigos Ranch the children experienced an unforgettable day that will be looked back on as a very happy childhood memory.
