Casa Pacifica Amigos Name New President

Camarillo, CA – The Casa Pacifica Amigos auxiliary is a great group of men and women who volunteer their time to plan and participate in fun activities with Casa Pacifica’s children and youth. Last year the Amigos hosted events on 32 Saturdays, including day hikes, bike rides, a Pinewood Derby contest (that took three weekends to cut, paint and race their cars), different sports clinics, a Water Day, and much, much more. The Amigos’ goal is to provide experiences that the kids would normally be having if they were living at home, as well as to teach them teamwork, some basic living skills, and to serve as mentors and role models for the children. The group is now more than 10 years old and was started by Dennis “Murf” Murphy and Tim New, who have headed up the group for most of its existence. The Amigos are proud to announce that Stefanie Wennes has been named the Amigos President for 2016-2017. Ms. Wennes is also a member of Casa Pacifica’s Board of Directors and has volunteered with many other charities, including the local chapter of Boys Team Charity.

The Casa Pacifica Angels auxiliary is Casa Pacifica’s oldest volunteer group at more than 15 years old. The Angels focus their efforts on planning and hosting four amazing Children’s Parties each year – the Prom, End of Summer Party, Halloween Party, and the Christmas Holiday Party. In addition, they also serve as a major fundraising arm for Casa Pacifica, organizing and planning the Angels Wine, Food & Brew Festival on the first Sunday in June each year and the Spotlight on Style Fashion Show, which will be held on November 5th this year. The Angels Board governs the auxiliary group’s efforts and recently installed its new board members for 2016-2017. Debbie Simpson, owner of AAA Propane Service Inc. (along with her husband) and long-time Angel member is beginning her second year as the Angel Board President. Other Angel Board officers include:  Parry Weet O’Brien, Lori Silvey, Patricia Cordover, Patty Turnage, Barbara Ito, Susan Burgos, Terri Parks, Marilyn Stoddard, Cindy Jaks, Theresa Yamamoto, DeeDee Beltran, Melanie Higashi, Jewell Powell,  Kathy Jeffers-Volk, Pia Dahlsten, Susan Bauer, Cindi Fredericks, and Rebeca Elliott.

Casa Pacifica is grateful to all the Angels and Amigos volunteers who spend countless hours ensuring Casa Pacifica’s children enjoy wonderful, magical, unforgettable moments of their childhoods – which they will carry with them forever.
