Aera Energy Donates 20 Turkey and Trimmings Dinners to Casa Pacifica Families for Thanksgiving

Camarillo, CA –Aera Energy, Ventura County’s largest onshore oil producer and its employees are providing much needed support to Casa Pacifica families in need during the holidays by providing complete Thanksgiving meals.
Aera and its employees started a new Thanksgiving Food Drive tradition in Ventura to assemble boxes filled with everything a family of six needs to prepare a delicious, traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Employees donated canned and dry goods (flour, canned yams, cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, etc.) along with an aluminum turkey roasting pan and pie pan, for 20 families. The company topped off each box with a turkey, bread, fresh vegetables and whipped topping for the pumpkin pie!
“We’re excited to support this program” said Michele Newell, Aera Energy spokesperson. “Giving to the community through charitable causes and employee involvement are a focus for Aera – it’s part of what we’re founded upon, it’s in our DNA – and we look forward to making this an ongoing tradition.”
Produce Available, a Casa Pacifica supporter, will donate their employees and a refrigerated truck to pick up the sizable donation of turkeys and perishable trimmings and deliver it to Casa Pacifica on Monday, November 21st, at 2:30 p.m., when Aera Energy will also arrive to drop off all the dry and canned goods. Then, Casa Pacifica employees will spend the next two days delivering the “Thanksgiving Dinners in a Box” to families it serves. These recipients include Casa Pacifica alumni and their families, young adults in the agency’s Transitional Youth Services program who live in the community, and families receiving Casa Pacifica’s community-based services.

With the help of Aera Energy, families that Casa Pacifica serves will have the opportunity to fully enjoy the spirit behind Thanksgiving – Gratitude – along with a great meal!
