Actor Jaden Smith Brings Swag and Smiles to Casa Pacifica Children
Camarillo, CA Dec. 20, 2017 – On Friday, December 15th, actor Jaden Smith came to Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families to visit with the children who live on campus and the students who attend Casa Pacifica’s non-public school. Jaden brought boxes of t-shirts, hoodies, and hats from his clothing line MSFTSrep to distribute to the kids. Almost as soon as the boxes were dropped on the table the kids were excitedly trying on the clothing and shrieks of joy could be heard around the basketball court. “I have a lot of clothes here that I made and designed myself for my brand MSFTS. I have way more than enough for everybody here! So anybody that wants any clothes or anything I’m going to start handing it out because I just want to hook you guys up,” said Jaden addressing the excited group of kids. Soon after Jaden spoke, it was a sea of kids fully clothed in MSFTSrep attire. Jaden signed the clothing, took pictures with the kids, and spent some quality time with them. Jaden also distributed bottles of JUST Water, a company he partners with – they focus on reducing its carbon footprint by using a bottle made from paper while sourcing 100% fresh spring water.
Jaden isn’t the first from his famous family to visit Casa Pacifica’s children. Jaden’s mom, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith has visited Casa Pacifica in years past. One alumni who returns occasionally to volunteer, Gilbert Rivera, chatted with Jaden about when his mom visited in 2002 when Gilbert was a resident. “I remember when your mom visited us, you were actually with her, but you were only a little kid! You’re making me feel old!” laughed Gilbert. “I think what you’re doing for the kids is awesome. I don’t think you realize what it means to these kids for someone famous to give their time and interact with them. It’s something these kids are never going to forget,” Gilbert told Jaden.
Jaden Smith made his major role debut at age eight, starring alongside his father Will Smith in The Pursuit of Happyness (2006). He went on to pursue roles in sci-fi films like The Day The Earth Stood Still and also remade the classic 1984 Karate Kid film with Jackie Chan in 2010. In November 2017, Jaden released his debut studio album titled Syre.
