25th Anniversary Care For Kids Golf Classic Another Great Day of Golf and Helping the Community!
Camarillo, CA July 20th, 2017 – Hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Camarillo, with Title Sponsor Advanced Motion Controls and Tournament Honorees David Nichols and Richard Quinn of Opolo Vineyards, the Care For Kids Golf Classic took place at Spanish Hills Country Club on Monday, July 17th, 2017, benefitting Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families and the Camarillo Rotary Foundation. This was the 25th anniversary of the Tournament, which has raised more than $1.5 million over the years for Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families, and the Foundation!
Kevin Estes and Kevin Nunn, the Tournament Co-Chairs, along with their dedicated Golf Committee planned and executed a great 25th Anniversary event - formatted as a four-person Texas Scramble shotgun tournament, which included trophies for 1st through 3rd places in both low gross and low net flights. All entrants received a deluxe tee package and had the opportunity to compete for the longest drive, and great hole-in-one prizes on each of the par-three holes – including a “Million Dollar Shootout” for the four closest-to-the-hole players on one par-3, who had another opportunity to try for a hole-in-one. Lunch and snacks were included on-course and a cocktail hour, raffle, live auction and awards dinner followed the days’ competitive round. All that fun while raising money for a great cause – to support the programs and services, and ultimately the children, of Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families!
It takes a lot of volunteers, sponsors, raffle and live auction donors, and of course, golfers to organize, work at, and participate in the event - people who help make the whole day not only possible, but a huge success, with the result of providing a significant donation to help Casa Pacifica fill the gap between what funding it receives through government contracts, and the actual costs of running the agency’s myriad therapeutic, healing programs and services.
2017 Care For Kids Golf Classic sponsors included: Title Sponsor – Advanced Motion Controls; Dinner Sponsor – The Zarley Family; Benefactor – The Tesoro Family; Patrons – Finishline Carpentry, Inc., Harrison Industries, Store Safe, and Ford of Ventura; and Friends – Al Lowe Construction, Avery Insurance and Financial Services, Barrelhouse 101, California Door and Hardware, Canteen Vending, Churchill Valencia – Re/Max Gold Coast Realtors, Coastal Embroidery, Coastal Sign Shop, Courtyard by Marriott, Don Valenzano Insurance Services, Elise and Bill Kearney, Firestone Walker Brewery, McDonalds, Mike and Tammie Helmuth/Conejo Awards, Mike Kildee, Mini of Camarillo/Steve Thomas, Old Oaks Cigar and Wine Co., Opolo Vineyards, Potts Dental, Roadrunner Shuttle and Limousine, Trophies Etc., Ventura Spaghetti Company.
