Casa Pacifica’s on-site and Angels volunteer programs offer rare opportunities for caring people to make a difference. Volunteers enlighten young minds and open new doors, providing opportunities and possibilities. Volunteers are positive role models, the first for some of the children, and offer new-world perspectives.
We are always grateful for the generosity of each volunteer for donating his/her time and devotion to the children. Some Casa Pacifica volunteers have had experience in working with troubled youth; others bring only the desire to help. No matter the level of experience, the most important qualities of a volunteer are a tender heart and an enthusiastic spirit.
Each year Casa Pacifica selects a Volunteer of the Year in recognition of the dedication and giving these volunteers bring to Casa Pacifica.
Our 2010 award was given to Roger Krenkler who has been involved with Casa Pacifica for almost 3 years. He first became involved with Casa Pacifica by joining the Amigos in 2008. In 2009, he began volunteering on-campus and his continuous acts of kindness and dedication have brought so much cheer to the kids on campus. Week after week, this volunteer arrived to work on our bikes so that we can ride them on our BMX track or around our campus everyday. He made himself available to teach us how to fix our bikes and anything we want to know about them. We are grateful to recognize this special man for truly being a helpful, loyal and all-around wonderful volunteer.
