Children and youth who have received services from Casa Pacifica – either placed on campus in the emergency shelter or in the residential treatment or been enrolled in day school or one of our community based services – are considered alumni. This includes most children and youth who have been in the Ventura County foster care system and many children and youth in Santa Barbara County.
Casa Pacifica’s philosophy is “once a Casa Pacifica ‘kid’ always a Casa Pacifica ‘kid’.” Children and youth who leave campus programs to either go home or to another placement are given a toll free number so they can stay in touch: (877) CASAKID / (877) 227-2543. We find that many youth who have been in our care and ‘age-out’ of the foster care system need supports and services and turn to us for help. We have responded to their requests which has led to the development of the Coaching Independence in Transition Youth (CITY) program which now provides a range of services designed to meet these needs.
In addition, we provide an annual holiday party including significant gift giving intended to meet immediate needs, priority in scholarship requests for higher education and housing opportunities.
We are also able to quickly link alumni to services on campus such as our Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) program for those with young children and the health clinic. An annual “Alumni of the Year” awards dinner is in the planning stages. For more information about Alumni Services e-mail: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
